original live-action wonder woman theme song.
my boss’s husband, john waterhouse, does THE POP CULTURE KING show on am1690 (the voice of the arts). i make it a point to try and catch it every saturday morning at 10 as it never fails to delight. and most times, it takes me back to some memory rabbit hole.
today was no exception. this song carried me back to the 70s as a child. the linda carter wonder woman tv show (and live-action batman!) were my jam. i rocked the WW UNDEROOS like a boss almost daily. you KNOW i HAD to construct complimentary wrist deflectors and tiara from aluminum foil to complete the outfit. oh to be a child again.
this (and the STAR WARS LOGO) are my earliest recollections of my love for graphic design, even though i didn’t know that’s what it was at the time. How the star wars esses connected to their neighboring letters spurred many young experiments in combing adjacent letters. and that wonder woman intro?! the graphic shooting stars and comic strip characters turning real life as they walked towards me on the screen? whoa. a young creative mind was set afire.
